we had the 6 hr pract today. we learnt all the basic stuff and some new stuff - lid eversion. when i first learnt it, i couldn't do it on Julia. maybe cos her eyelid is very thick. but i felt really demoralised after that.. cos i think almost everyone can do it ba~ i dun want to be a lousy optometrist ah!!
then in the afternoon pract, i had to pair up with Ho. i thought it's gonna be pretty awkward but it turned out ok. i feel quite comfortable. maybe cos he talked a lot and tried to relieve the tension a bit. anyway, i couldn't do the eye eversion again. so demoralising!! i think it's coz he has thick eye lids too. it's actually my excuse to make myself feel better. but he was really nice and patient about it. i was the one making a great fuss i think. geez~ anyway, it's actually not bad working with someone i'm not familiar with. in the end, we were the last pair to finish. and thankfully, Julia waited for me to go home together. hee..
after i got home, i waited eagerly for my cousin to come home. cos i wanted to try and evert his eye lid. he said yes easily. then i just tried one flip and i did it!! dunno why i can just do it so easily this time. hmm... maybe cos his eyelid is thinner or maybe i'm less nervous so i do it more expertly and more importantly, his eyes stayed very still and he didn't blink at all. heh.. yeah!! i think i better practise on Julia again cos hers is more challenging. poor Julia.. hehe..
