we learnt about history taking in FDV today. the lecturer was damn funny! i realised there is so much to know about history taking and how to communicate well with the patient.. now i think general practioner is an easier job la. GP just ask u ur problem and then decide whether they should prescribe any drug to u. it's only 15 mins per patient. but for optometrists, we need to ask so many questions and record the relevant details and we need to come up with a diagnosis and assessment for the patient.. and somemore, we need to check for other problems besides the presenting complaint. and we need to spend like 2 hours for each patient. see, our job is more tedious than a GP. Being a GP is no big deal at all :p then one of the slides said that usually a more confident student has poorer history taking skills. hmm.. that's interesting..
